About Us

Founded in 2025 and proudly located in Cuba City, Wisconsin, Red's Supper Club carries forward a legacy that dates back nearly a century. While today's Red's serves the Tri-State Area with incredible BBQ, hand-cut steaks, prime rib, fresh seafood, signature cocktails, and our celebrated Original New England Clam Chowder, the spirit behind the restaurant was born long before its doors officially opened.

In the early 1930s, Cuba City was a hardworking mining community where families spent long days working in the lead and zinc mines that shaped southwestern Wisconsin. Life was simple, and after a long day, people looked for a place to relax, enjoy a good meal, and connect with friends and neighbors.

That place began with a man known simply as "Red."

Red earned his nickname from his unmistakable fiery red hair, but it was his warm personality and genuine hospitality that truly made him memorable. He wasn't a trained restaurateur. He was a people person who understood that great food brings people together, but treating guests like family is what keeps them coming back.

The building that would eventually inspire Red's Supper Club originally served as the home where Red and his wife, Mayme, raised their five children. During Prohibition, Red transformed the front portion of the house into a gathering place for locals and travelers passing through town. What started as a modest space with a few tables, a small bar, and a humble kitchen quickly became known for its welcoming atmosphere and hearty meals.

As word spread, people traveled from neighboring communities to enjoy Red's famous hospitality and expertly prepared steaks. Red knew his regulars by name, remembered their favorite drinks and meals, and made sure every guest felt welcome. His vision extended beyond serving food. He wanted to create a place where everyone felt they belonged.

Over time, the establishment evolved into the classic Wisconsin supper club experience. The dining room expanded, a cozy bar was added, and traditions that remain beloved today became part of the experience: expertly crafted Old Fashioneds, leisurely dinners enjoyed among friends and family, and warm, attentive service that made every visit special.

By the 1940s, Red's had become a destination. Couples celebrated special occasions, families gathered for milestones, and travelers made it a regular stop whenever they were in the area. The glow of the sign outside represented more than a restaurant. It symbolized comfort, community, and the promise of a memorable meal.

While generations have passed and times have changed, Red's philosophy remains the same: every guest matters. That belief continues to inspire everything we do today.

Now, in 2025, Red's Supper Club proudly carries that tradition into a new era, serving guests throughout Cuba City, Platteville, Darlington, Dubuque County, and the surrounding Tri-State Area. Our menu features mouthwatering BBQ, hand-cut steaks, slow-roasted prime rib, fresh seafood, homemade appetizers, crisp salads, decadent desserts, and our renowned Original New England Clam Chowder. Behind the bar, you'll find handcrafted cocktails, classic Wisconsin Old Fashioneds, and a welcoming atmosphere perfect for relaxing with friends and family.
